Snapmaker U1 is a next-gen multi-color 3D printer with CoreXY architecture and four independent heads. Thanks to the SnapSwap system, it handles fast color/material switching within seconds and significantly reduces purge waste, so you print faster and more efficiently. Key processes such as bed leveling, vibration and flow compensation, and head alignment are performed automatically.
Why choose it
- 4 tool heads work as one – automatic alignment with a deviation below 0.04 mm for sharp details without vertical shifts.
- CoreXY + high speeds: up to 300 mm/s printing, 500 mm/s travel, acceleration 20,000 mm/s² – ideal for productive prototyping and color models.
- Less waste during multicolor printing thanks to smart head switching; filament savings compared to classic single-head systems.
- Built-in chamber camera for time-lapse and print monitoring; "spaghetti" or obstacle detection on the bed will be activated by an OTA update planned for December 2025.
Materials and environment
Basic compatibility: PLA, PETG, TPU, PVA. With the optional closed enclosure, PET, ABS, ASA are added. For technical materials (PC, PA, PA-CF/PA-GF), an enclosure and hardened steel nozzle are recommended. Support for 1.75 mm filaments including third parties; RFID identification works with official Snapmaker materials.
Automation and reliability
- Auto mesh bed leveling for a flawless first layer.
- Input Shaping and Pressure Advance for smooth surfaces and precise flow even at high speeds.
- Automatic material system: 4 spools in standby, auto-feed, backup mode (automatic switch to the next identical material), RFID.
- Sensors: filament runout detection, “air printing”, build plate and obstacle detection, power loss recovery.
Software and connectivity
The printer runs on Klipper firmware and uses Snapmaker Orca (based on OrcaSlicer) with factory profiles. You can start and monitor prints via Wi-Fi in the Snapmaker App; a 3.5" touchscreen is also available for quick control. Supported OS: Windows, macOS, Linux; mobile app for Android and iOS.
