    Prusament PETG Shimmering Violet 1kg

Prusament PETG Shimmering Violet is a high‑quality PETG filament manufactured in‑house by Prusa Research. Thanks to strict production control and the use of premium raw materials, you get a consistent diameter, stable color, and very reliable printing. The shimmering violet shade with fine metallic particles gives your models a luxurious appearance.

Main advantages of Prusament PETG Shimmering Violet

    • Top-class diameter accuracy of ±0.02 mm – ideal for detailed and dimensionally accurate prints.
    • Shimmering violet color (Shimmering Violet) – highly attractive look with a glitter effect, suitable for design and presentation models.
    • High strength and toughness – suitable for mechanically stressed parts, brackets, mounts, jigs.
    • Good temperature resistance – suitable for parts used both indoors and outdoors.
    • Excellent layer adhesion – durable, partially watertight prints.
    • Easy printing compared to common PETG – low warping and low shrinkage.
    • Manufactured directly by Prusa Research – the same material used to print parts for Original Prusa printers.

    Recommended applications

Prusament PETG Shimmering Violet is a great choice for:

    • functional and technical parts – brackets, clamps, covers, jigs, spare parts,
    • outdoor elements – labels, boxes, caps, hinges (with regard to UV exposure and mechanical load),
    • design and decorative models – figurines, cosplay accessories, interior decorations,
    • prototypes – where the combination of strength, temperature resistance, and appearance is important.

    Recommended print settings

    • Nozzle temperature: 250 °C ± 10 °C
    • Heated bed temperature: 80 °C ± 10 °C
    • Recommended build plate: textured (powder-coated) or satin steel sheet
    • Filament diameter: 1,75 mm
    • Recommended airflow: low to medium (too strong cooling can worsen layer adhesion).

Before printing, it is advisable to thoroughly clean the print surface (isopropyl alcohol, or as recommended by the printer manufacturer) and use the default Prusament PETG profile in PrusaSlicer or similar settings in another slicer.

    Tips for printing PETG

    • Drying the filament: PETG easily absorbs moisture. For best results, we recommend drying the filament before printing in a filament dryer or in an oven with precise temperature control (according to the printer/filament manufacturer’s recommendations).
    • Stringing: if you notice fine strings, try slightly increasing retraction and adjusting the nozzle temperature (e.g. in 5 °C steps). Any stringing can be removed with a short treatment using a hot‑air gun.
    • Adhesion to the bed: with PETG, adhesion can be very strong – on smooth surfaces it is worth using a separation layer (glue, glue stick, special spray) as recommended by the printer manufacturer.

    Why choose Prusament

    • Inspection of every spool: for each spool there is an online record of the production process – diameter profile, tolerance verification, and other parameters.
    • Consistent quality: in‑house production at Prusa Research ensures stable material composition, color consistency, and repeatable results.
    • Ideal for Original Prusa printers, but fully compatible with most FFF/FDM 3D printers that support PETG and 1,75 mm filament.

    Package contents

    • 1× spool of Prusament PETG Shimmering Violet, filament weight 1 kg.

This filament is an ideal choice for users who want a combination of a reliable technical material and an exclusive appearance in a single spool.
