WORCAM Filament 1.75mm PLA Metallic blue is a universal PLA filament with a metallic look, designed for reliable and precise 3D printing on most desktop FDM/FFF printers. Thanks to its stable diameter, low shrinkage, and excellent interlayer adhesion, it is suitable for both beginners and advanced users.
The metallic blue shade will give your prints a
premium look – ideal for design elements, figures, models, covers, decorations, and gift items.
Main advantages of PLA WORCAM
- Easy printing even for beginners
PLA from WORCAM is very tolerant of settings, does not require a closed chamber, and prints well even on common home 3D printers.
- Low thermal expansion
Prints do not warp on the bed and hold their shape even for larger objects.
- Excellent details
Suitable for fine and detailed models, architectural miniatures, jewelry, or figures. PLA is proven for very thin layers (down to 0.05 mm).
- Biodegradable material
PLA is based on natural raw materials and does not emit a strong odor during printing.
- Metallic blue effect
An attractive metallic blue color gives prints a luxurious look suitable for representative models, design, and decorations.
Recommended use
PLA WORCAM in metallic blue is ideal for:
- decorative and design objects
- figures, character models, fantasy and game accessories
- covers and electronics parts (excluding high temperatures)
- prototypes and presentation models
- promotional items, logos, and signs
Thanks to its simple processing, it is also suitable for school and hobby projects.
Printing recommendations
For optimal results, the following values are typically used for PLA WORCAM (based on standard PLA WORCAM parameters):
- Nozzle temperature: 195–220 °C
- Bed temperature: 50–60 °C
- Recommended printing speed: around 60–80 mm/s
- Cooling: active model cooling fan (especially for fine details and overhangs)
Specific settings may vary slightly depending on the printer, nozzle, and environment – we recommend starting in the middle of the recommended range and fine-tuning based on the results.
Suitability and limitations of PLA
Advantages of PLA:
- very easy printing
- high stiffness and hardness
- good dimensional stability
- low deformation during printing
- almost odorless during printing
Disadvantages of PLA:
- lower temperature resistance – above approx. 60 °C, the material may soften or deform
- higher brittleness compared to e.g., PETG or ABS
- not suitable for long-term outdoor use (UV and weathering)
Therefore, PLA is ideal mainly for visual, presentation, prototyping, and non-stressed functional parts, not for mechanically or thermally extremely stressed components.
Package contents
- 1× spool of WORCAM PLA Metallic blue – 1 kg of net filament winding
The filament is wound on a plastic spool, packed in protective packaging (typically with desiccant) to limit moisture during storage, similar to other Worcam brand PLA.
