Description of Bambu Lab PLA Wood White Oak

Bambu Lab PLA Wood White Oak is a composite PLA filament filled with fine wood powder. It combines the reliability and simple printing properties of PLA with the authentic look and feel of natural wood. The light White Oak shade resembles bleached / natural oak, perfect for modern, Scandinavian, and minimalist design.

The surface of the prints is matte, slightly grainy, feels "warm," and has a subtle woody scent during printing. Models can be further sanded, stained, waxed, or lacquered, making it easy to achieve a very realistic wood look that cannot be achieved with regular PLA.

The filament is supplied on a reusable Bambu Lab spool and is fully compatible with all Bambu Lab printers (X1, X1 Carbon, P1P, P1S, A1, A1 mini) as well as other FDM printers for a filament diameter of 1.75 mm.

Printing Recommendations

Specific values may vary depending on the printer and model; consider them as default settings.

• Nozzle temperature: approx. 200–230 °C
• Bed temperature: approx. 35–45 °C (can also be printed on a cold bed with the correct adhesive)
• Printing speed: similar to regular PLA; a medium speed is recommended for a smoother surface
• Nozzle: a standard 0.4 mm brass nozzle is usable; for long-term printing of composite materials, a hardened nozzle can be considered
• Ventilation: medium to high fan flow for better detail quality

To achieve the most realistic wood effect, we recommend:

• slightly lowering the printing speed for surface layers,
• using a higher layer height (e.g., 0.2–0.28 mm) to emphasize the "wood" layers,
• after printing, lightly sanding the model with fine sandpaper and optionally toning it with stain or oil.
