Highly durable yellow tribofilament igus iglidur J260-PF for the production of plain bearings, bushings and gears with extremely low friction. Long-term temperature resistance up to 120 °C and tribological properties identical to the injection-molded material. For high-quality printing it requires a high nozzle and bed temperature and ideally a heated chamber.

    Overview

iglidur J260-PF is a special tribofilament from igus designed for maximum service life and a very low coefficient of friction in moving parts. Printed bearing components achieve comparable wear resistance to the injection-molded material of the same name iglidur J260. It withstands temperatures of up to 120 °C in the long term.
    • The best friction parameters among igus tribofilaments, ideal for low and medium loads.
    • For larger parts, printing in an enclosed, heated chamber is recommended.

    Key benefits

    • Extremely low friction and long service life – printed bearings from J260-PF have demonstrated in tests comparable resistance to wear as injection-molded parts; igus tribofilaments achieve up to 50× lower wear than conventional printing materials.
    • Long-term temperature resistance up to 120 °C (short-term up to 140 °C).
    • Good resistance to liquids – also suitable for applications with contact with coolants and media.
    • Self-lubricating composition – no need for additional lubrication throughout the entire service life.

    Typical applications

    • Plain bearings, bushings, sliding guides and guiding elements
    • Gears (e.g. worm), cams, friction segments
    • Prototypes and small series, especially in robotics and mechanical engineering.

    Recommended print settings

    • Nozzle temperature: 260–280 °C
    • Bed temperature: 100–130 °C
    • Chamber: heated recommended (without it, print rather smaller parts)
    • Print speed: up to 20 mm/s for the best mechanical and tribological properties
    • Bed adhesion: igus Adhesion Promoter recommended; for supports at higher temperatures consider high‑temp support (e.g. Formfutura Helios).

    Variants and compatibility

    • Diameter: 1,75 mm
    • Weight: 750 g
    • Color: yellow These variants ensure compatibility with a wide range of professional FFF/FDM printers.

    Material properties (iglidur J260)

    • Density approx. 1,35 g/cm³
    • Coefficient of friction (dynamic against steel): 0,06–0,20
    • Long-term service temperature: +120 °C, short-term +140 °C, lower −100 °C
    • Hardness Shore D 77
    • Moisture absorption (23 °C/50 % RH): 0,2 %
    • Volume resistivity: >10¹² Ω·cm These values are based on the material data for iglidur J260 and help when designing functional bearing parts.

    Notes for successful printing

    • Thoroughly dry the material and limit part cooling (if possible, switch the fan off or to a minimum) for better interlayer adhesion.
    • For demanding parts choose a smaller layer height and slower speed – you will improve the surface and dimensional accuracy.

    Key features:

    • Very low friction and exceptional wear resistance for moving parts.
    • Identical tribological properties to injection-molded iglidur J260 – from prototype to series.
    • Long-term temperature resistance up to 120 °C; also suitable for warmer environments.
    • Good chemical/liquid resistance and self-lubrication – no additional lubrication.
    • Optimized for bearings, bushings, gears and guiding applications.
    • Requires higher printing temperatures and ideally a heated chamber for larger parts.
