igus iglidur i180-BL-PF is an engineering tribofilament specially developed for producing functional parts exposed to friction and wear. Integrated solid lubricants reduce the coefficient of friction, making the material ideal for 3D printing components that move, slide or operate in mutual contact.
The black version is also suitable for visible functional parts, prototypes and small-batch production. The material combines good mechanical strength, high wear resistance and a long-term operating temperature of up to 100 °C.
The tribologically optimized composition contains solid lubricants dispersed directly in the material. Printed components can therefore operate without additional oil or grease in many applications. This helps reduce maintenance, contamination of the surroundings and operational downtime.
The material is particularly suitable for dynamic applications with higher peripheral speeds, where standard filaments may not provide sufficient service life.
iglidur i180-BL-PF can be used continuously at temperatures of up to 100 °C and for short periods at up to 120 °C. The recommended operating temperature range starts at −40 °C. This combination makes it suitable for more demanding engineering parts and environments where standard materials could soften or wear more quickly.
To achieve reliable results, a 3D printer with an enclosed build chamber is required. The recommended nozzle temperature is 250–260 °C and the heated bed temperature is 90–110 °C. For good first-layer adhesion, it is recommended to use an adhesive film or a suitable igus adhesion agent for tribofilaments.
Part cooling is not essential; however, printing with active cooling is also possible after properly tuning the print profile.
An enclosed FDM/FFF printer capable of reaching the required nozzle and bed temperatures is recommended for processing the material.
