What is iglidur® i150

iglidur® i150 is a special tribo‑filament developed by igus for parts with low friction and high wear resistance. The material is filled with solid lubricants, so printed components run “dry” without additional lubrication and achieve significantly longer service life than common engineering plastics. In white, it meets the requirements for food contact according to EU 10/2011.

Why choose i150

• High abrasion resistance; tribologically optimized material with dry lubricants. In tribo‑filament tests, prints achieve up to tens of times lower wear than standard materials.
• Easy to print on most FFF/FDM printers – with profiles for Prusa MK3/MK4/XL, Bambu Lab X1/P1, and Ultimaker S3/S5/S7 available for download.
• Printable even without a heated bed; the igus adhesive for tribo‑filaments is recommended.
• The white variant complies with EU 10/2011 (food contact). The black variant i150‑BL offers an excellent surface finish, but without food‑grade conformity.
• Large spools available (2 kg and 8 kg) for continuous printing of large parts.

• Plain bearings, bushings, and guiding elements
• Sliding mechanisms, linear guides, sliding rails
• Gears and transmissions with low surface speeds (safely up to ~0.2 m/s)

When to choose another material

• Long-term operating temperature above 65 °C (consider iglidur® i180 / J260, or A350 for food applications at higher temperatures)
• Highly dynamic applications with extreme loads

Printing tips

• Nozzle: typically 230–250 °C
• Bed: approx. 20–60 °C (printing also possible without heating) + use the recommended igus adhesive
• Cooling: minimal / off
• Speed: approximately 30–50 mm/s
