Is the P1S chamber actively heated?
No. The chamber temperature increases based on the heated bed temperature setting and cannot be precisely regulated.
Is a filament buffer required for printing with a single filament? (For the X1 or P1 Series)
When printing with a single filament spool, a buffer is not required because the filament spool itself can be considered a ‘buffer’.
What is the difference between the P1S and P1P?
Compared with the P1P, the P1S offers a fully enclosed print chamber and a more powerful cooling solution, which includes an auxiliary part-cooling fan, a chamber temperature-regulating fan, and a control board cooling fan. It is also equipped with an activated carbon filter, providing a solution for printing filaments such as ABS, which are prone to releasing odors and harmful gases during printing.
For more information, please visit the official website (https://bambulab.com/en/p1) or see the product specifications on the official wiki.
What is the difference between the P1S and X1C?
The P1S is based on the P1P with an improved cooling solution and an enclosed chamber. However, it is not recommended to print directly with glass fiber- or carbon fiber-reinforced filaments before upgrading the extruder and hotend. The X1-Carbon is equipped with Micro lidar for advanced AI detection features and offers more convenient and efficient interaction via the display.
Can the P1S glass top cover be used on the P1P?
The P1 and X1C Series use the same glass top cover specification, which is suitable for both the P1P and P1S. It is recommended to use the glass top cover when installing the side panels to prevent the glass top cover from slipping.
Can the P1S front glass door be installed on the P1P?
The P1S and X1C use the same front glass door specification. If you want to install the front glass door on the P1P, you must also install the front door mounting kit. After installation, a gap may appear between the top of the glass door and the front cover. If you need a completely enclosed unit, also replace the P1P front cover with the P1S front cover.
Can the P1P be upgraded to the P1S?
Yes, the P1P can be upgraded to the P1S using an upgrade kit. Purchasing the upgrade kit as a whole will be more cost-effective than purchasing individual replacement parts.
What accessories do I need to upgrade my P1P to a P1S?
Please see the following list of accessories included in the P1P to P1S upgrade kit:
When will the P1P upgrade package be available online, and how much will it cost?
The P1P to P1S upgrade kit is available in the official online store for USD 150.
Can the P1S side panel be used on the P1P? How do I install it?
Yes, the P1S side panels can be installed on the P1P.
Will the P1P be discontinued in the future?
There are no plans to discontinue the P1P.
I recently ordered a P1P. Can I pay extra and exchange it for a P1S?
An upgrade kit is available to transition from the P1P to the P1S. We recommend purchasing the upgrade kit for this purpose. If you still want to exchange the P1P for a P1S, please see the applicable return and refund policy in the online store. The P1P will need to be returned for a refund, after which you can place a new order for the P1S.
I purchased some accessories for the P1P. Can they be used on the P1S?
Please see the detailed accessory pages in the online store, where we indicate whether the product is compatible with the P1S.
I want to know the technical specifications of the P1S. Where can I find them?
You can find the technical specifications on the official website and official WIKI.
Is the P1S cable chain available for sale? Or can I purchase the P1S cable chain and install it on the P1P?
We do not sell cable chains for the P1S separately, but we do sell a cable chain that is compatible with the X1C. If you need to upgrade the cable chain on the P1P or replace the cable chain on the P1S, you will need to purchase the cable chain for the X1C. You can find the cable chain installation instructions on the WIKI.
Can the chamber temperature-regulating fan be installed on the P1P?
Yes, it is possible, but you will need to print an air filter fan holder to install the fan (click here to purchase the fan). The print file and installation instructions are available on the WIKI.
What is the maximum heated bed temperature?
100 ℃
How do I configure the P1 Series for printing with carbon fiber or glass fiber?
If you want to print carbon fiber filament on the P1P or P1S, upgrade it with a hardened hotend with nozzle and a hardened steel gear assembly.
See them here:
For filaments containing carbon fiber or glass fiber, it is strongly recommended to use a 0.6 mm hardened steel nozzle to minimize the risk of clogging and abrasion.
In addition, Bambu PLA-CF and Bambu PETG-CF filaments have been extensively tested and have been shown to have a low risk of clogging when printed with a 0.4 mm hardened steel nozzle, while also achieving higher print quality.
To learn more about filament compatibility with the printer, nozzle, AMS, build plate, adhesive, and required parameters, please see the Filament Guide Wiki.
