The powder-coated surface is applied directly to the metal, making this version of the sheet highly resistant to damage. If a hot nozzle hits the surface, the metal can dissipate the heat. The powder structure also gives the surface a distinct grainy texture that will be visible on your prints. On the MK52 heated beds for which it is designed, it is held by a system of magnets. This ensures easy removal of the sheet while keeping it firmly fixed in place during printing.
The textured surface hides most mechanical damage caused by tools. Only the tops of the small bumps on the surface can be scratched, which will then not be visible on the bottom side of the print.
WARNING:
Never use acetone to clean the textured print sheet. Acetone will disrupt the structure of the powder PEI surface and irreversibly destroy it.
Note:
The warranty does not cover consumable parts, such as print sheets (smooth, textured, etc.). Their surface naturally degrades over time during printing, unless damage occurs due to material fatigue or manufacturing defects. The warranty does not cover nicks, scratches, dents, and other cosmetic defects. The warranty only applies to sheets that are defective upon receipt.
