PLA filament 1,75 mm is the most versatile material for FDM printing technology, suitable even for printing large objects. Thanks to its simple properties, we recommend PLA to all beginners who are starting with 3D printing. Another big advantage is 100% ecological biodegradability, as PLA is made from renewable resources such as corn starch. PLA material is hard and durable, like other plastics, however, it is not a material suitable for outdoor use because in such cases it degrades and becomes brittle under UV light.
The material is difficult to sand during sanding (friction) generates heat and this causes "pulling" of fibers from the print. Therefore, for manual sanding, it is recommended to cool the print, for example by sanding under water. For the same reason, it is also difficult to drill holes in the print (again a problem with heating). It is advisable to first spray the mass with a filler (putty used in modeling) and then sand and repaint and again and again - until the mass is completely smooth and finally spray with color.
Superglue with an activator spray (sometimes superglue alone may be enough).
Commonly used nozzles are suitable. You can choose diameters according to the surface fineness you want to achieve or according to the layer thickness setting during printing. Printing temperature: 210 °C. PLA filament requires a heated bed but for better material adhesion, it is recommended to heat it up to 55 °C. Furthermore, we do not recommend covering the printer in an enclosure for printing PLA filament, or leaving it open. For a quality print surface, it is necessary to cool the plastic behind the nozzle as quickly as possible. We therefore recommend setting the plastic cooling fan on the printer to 100%.
We supply the printing string vacuum packed together with a moisture absorber and placed in a cardboard box. The plastic spools on which the filament is wound may vary in indentation or color. We try to maintain 100% repeatability of the winding and spool color.
