Glows in the dark!

PLA filament 1.75 mm is the most versatile material for FDM printing technology, suitable even for printing large objects. Due to its simple properties, we recommend PLA to all beginners starting with 3D printing. Another great advantage is 100% ecological degradability, as PLA is made from renewable resources such as corn starch. PLA material is hard and durable, like other plastics, but it is not a material suitable for outdoor use because it degrades and becomes brittle under UV light.

PLA Surface Finishing

The material is difficult to sand; during sanding (by friction), heat is generated, which causes "pulling" of fibers from the print. Therefore, it is recommended to cool the print during manual sanding, for example by sanding underwater. For the same reason, it is also difficult to drill holes in the print (again, a problem with heating). It is advisable to first spray the object with a filler (putty used in modeling) and then sand and repaint over and over again - until the surface is completely smooth, and finally spray it with paint.

Cyanoacrylate glue with an activator spray (sometimes cyanoacrylate glue alone may be enough).

Recommended Settings for PLA Printing

Commonly used nozzles are suitable. You can choose diameters according to the surface fineness you want to achieve or according to the layer thickness setting during printing. Printing temperature: 210 °C. PLA filament requires a heated bed, but for better material adhesion, it is recommended to heat it up to 55 °C. Furthermore, we do not recommend covering the printer in an enclosure for PLA filament printing, or leaving it open. For a high-quality print surface, it is necessary to cool the plastic behind the nozzle as quickly as possible. We therefore recommend setting the plastic cooling fan on the printer to 100%.

The printing filament is supplied vacuum-packed together with a moisture absorber and placed in a cardboard box. The plastic spools on which the filament is wound may vary in embossment or color. We strive to maintain 100% repeatability of winding and spool color.
