    Product description

Nylon PA12+CF15 Professional Lab is a premium nylon filament with 15% carbon fibers, designed for demanding technical applications. It combines the low water absorption and chemical resistance of PA12 polyamide with the high rigidity and thermal resistance of a carbon composite. The result is extremely strong, rigid, and lightweight parts with minimal distortion and high dimensional stability during printing. The filament is suitable for professional and industrial use – from functional prototypes and engineering components to end-use parts that must withstand mechanical loads and higher temperatures over the long term.

    Main benefits and features

    • 15% carbon fibers (CF15) – significantly higher strength and rigidity compared to pure PA12
    • High thermal resistance – part operating temperatures of up to approx. 150–160 °C depending on geometry and conditions
    • Low water absorption – PA12 has the lowest water absorption among common polyamides, allowing parts to better retain their dimensions and properties in humid conditions
    • Very low shrinkage and deformation – minimizes warping and cracking during printing; also suitable for larger parts
    • High chemical resistance – resistant to oils, lubricants, and many chemicals; suitable for technical environments
    • Matte, technical surface – elegant black carbon appearance that masks layers and minor imperfections
    • Low density and high rigidity – ideal for lightweight structures and replacing metal parts
    • Professional diameter precision – 1.75 mm diameter with low tolerances for reliable printing
Warning: The filament is highly abrasive – always use a hardened steel / hardened or ruby nozzle; otherwise, the brass nozzle will wear out quickly.

    Recommended use

    • Structural and functional parts – housings, holders, jigs, flanges, covers, fastening and mounting elements
    • Automotive and industry – components exposed to higher temperatures, oils, and vibrations
    • Drones and RC models – lightweight, highly rigid, and impact-resistant frame and holder components
    • Replacement of steel elements – where the goal is a significant weight reduction while maintaining strength
    • Jigs and tools – clamps, assembly jigs, measuring and manufacturing fixtures
    • Parts for powder coating and higher temperatures (depending on the specific temperature load)

    Printing recommendations

Parameters may vary depending on the specific printer, but the following values typically work well for PA12+CF15:
    • Nozzle temperature: approx. 255–280 °C (depending on speed and cooling)
    • Bed temperature: 90–110 °C (70–120 °C for some recipes)
    • Chamber: an enclosed chamber is advantageous but not necessarily required (depending on part size)
    • Part cooling: 0–20% (rather low, only for small details)
    • Recommended print speed: approx. 30–60 mm/s
    • Build plate: PEI, glass, or another surface + suitable adhesive (Magigoo, adhesive spray, glue stick) for better adhesion
    • Dry filament: drying before printing is recommended (approx. 80–90 °C / 4 h) to prevent bubbles and surface deterioration
    Hardware recommendations:
    • nozzle: hardened steel / hardened / ruby, ⌀ ≥ 0.4 mm
    • hotend: all-metal (without PTFE in the hot zone) due to the higher printing temperatures

    Key customer benefits

    • Professional engineering material – suitable for production use, not just prototypes
    • High rigidity and strength thanks to 15% carbon fibers
    • Resistance to high temperatures (approx. 150–160 °C depending on the application)
    • Low water absorption and chemical resistance – stable properties even in demanding environments
    • Minimal deformation and shrinkage – better dimensional accuracy, even for larger parts
    • Matte carbon surface – technical appearance, suitable for end-use parts
