The original Bambu Lab desiccant for AMS (6 pcs, FAZ002) is a set of desiccant sachets designed specifically for the Bambu Lab AMS unit. It ensures consistently low humidity inside the AMS so that your filaments remain dry, do not absorb moisture from the surroundings, and do not degrade their printing properties.

Each package contains 6 desiccant sachets, which are inserted into the dedicated positions in the AMS. The desiccant is supplied as a white powder in a sealed sachet – before use, the sachets must be removed from the protective plastic packaging.

How the desiccant works

The desiccant based on calcium chloride (CaCl₂) is a very effective moisture absorber. After being inserted into the AMS:

• in its new state it has the form of a white powder,
• as it absorbs moisture, it changes into a yellow paste, which gradually fills the sachet,
• once it is completely yellow, it loses the ability to further dry the air and must be replaced with a new sachet.

Dry filament is essential for quality 3D printing – especially for moisture-sensitive materials such as Nylon, PA-CF, PETG, TPU and other engineering plastics.

Instructions for use

1. Remove 2–3 new desiccant sachets from the supplied transparent plastic packaging.
2. Remove the protective film from the desiccant (if present) and insert the sachets into the designated position in the AMS.
3. Close the AMS cover and make sure that the locking latches are properly closed so that the internal space is as well isolated from the ambient air as possible.
4. Regularly check the condition of the desiccant – approximately every 2 weeks.
5. If the entire sachet is yellow and pasty, replace it with a new one. At the same time, it is recommended to re-dry any already damp filaments in a filament dryer.

Recommendations for best results

• Keep the AMS closed when you are not printing or handling filaments.
• In a room with high humidity, it may be necessary to replace the desiccant more frequently.
• For long-term storage of sensitive filaments, combine the AMS with desiccants and, if necessary, with an external filament dryer.
