Bambu Lab Bambu Engineering Plate
Bambu Engineering Plate is an original flexible steel print sheet from Bambu Lab designed specifically for
engineering (technical) filaments. The surface treatment provides
strong adhesion at higher temperatures and allows for easy removal of prints after cooling without damaging the bottom layer.
An ideal choice for users who frequently print PETG, ASA/ABS, nylon (PA), and composite materials, where a standard textured PEI sheet might not suffice.
Main Advantages and Features
- Special Surface for Engineering Materials
Optimized for PETG, ASA/ABS, PA, PC, and other engineering plastics that require higher bed temperatures and stronger adhesion.
- Flexible Steel Plate
The plate is made of flexible steel – once printing is finished, just bend it and the model releases easily, without tools and without risk of damaging the bottom layer.
- Stable Adhesion at High Temperatures
The surface is designed to hold even larger technical parts without warping corners at recommended bed temperatures.
- Fine Satin/Smooth Bottom Surface Finish
Prints gain a fine smooth to satin finish, ideal for functional parts, housings, mechanical components, or aesthetic technical models.
- Original Bambu Lab QR/ArUco Code
The sheet is factory-equipped with a code for automatic recognition of the plate type by the Bambu Lab printer (X1/P1/A1 series – depending on the specific variant), so the firmware and slicer can use the correct profiles.
- Easy Maintenance
For cleaning, a mild detergent and water or isopropyl alcohol is sufficient. With proper care, the surface retains its adhesive properties long-term.
Recommended Use
Suitable Materials:
- PETG and PETG‑CF
- ASA / ABS
- PA, PA‑CF, and other composite nylons
- PC and technical blends
For PLA, the Engineering Plate is usable, but a textured or smooth PEI plate is commonly recommended; PLA can adhere too strongly in extreme cases, so a
thin layer of glue is often used as a release agent.
Tips for Achieving the Best Results
- Always select the correct plate type (Engineering/High Temp) in the slicer so the firmware uses the appropriate temperature profiles.
- For technical materials, follow recommended bed temperatures and use a closed chamber (if the printer has one) to reduce warping effects.
- Before long series of technical prints, we recommend washing the plate with warm water and detergent and then degreasing with IPA.
- Do not use acetone or harsh abrasive sponges to protect the surface.
Which Printers Is the Plate Intended For
Bambu Engineering Plate is produced in versions for
Bambu Lab X1/X1C, P1P/P1S, and A1/A1 mini printers (differing in dimensions and notch shapes). Always verify
compatibility of size and mounting with your printer before purchasing.
