Alternative Hall-effect filament sensor that monitors the filament feed status in the toolhead. Helps prevent print errors (run-out, jams) and, for multi-color, passes filament in/out status to the AMS Lite system.

Compatibility and placement

• Compatible with: Bambu Lab A1, A1 Mini (A1 Series).
• Placement: the sensor (“Hall Board”) is mounted on the side of the extruder on the top of the toolhead; it installs into the Filament Sensor Base.

When to replace the sensor

• The printer incorrectly reports filament presence/absence, frequent pauses due to “pull out filament”, etc.
• Damaged/torn sensor flat cable during service.

Installation – quick steps

1. Power off the printer and release the top Filament Sensor Base.
2. Disconnect the old FFC cable and remove the sensor from the mount, install the new one and insert the FFC into the connector.
3. Tighten the screws to secure the sensor and put the base back in place.
4. Perform a function check according to the official guide (Bambu Wiki).

Tip: The sensor operates on the Hall effect and the magnet of the detector lever — ensure correct orientation/installation and keep the mechanics around the lever clean.
