What Is the Bambu Reusable Spool?

We designed the entire filament feeding system to use a reusable spool, resulting in at least 20% less plastic waste when using filament. When selecting the packaging material, we carefully considered its composition to minimize the use of non-recyclable materials.

Here is how to change the filament on a Bambu reusable spool.

Step 1: Twist to open the reusable spool

Step 2: Find the stopper – the small block on the wide part (without pulling out the plastic strips!).

Step 3: Tear off and pull out the plastic strips.

First, tear off and pull out the plastic strips closest to the end of the filament. Then insert the end of the filament into the holes in the spool to prevent it from unwinding or tangling. Finally, tear off and pull out the remaining three plastic strips.

Step 4: Press the filament firmly

Press the filament so that it is evenly distributed and as close to the spool as possible, ensuring that there is no gap between the filament and the spool.

Step 5: Apply the included sticker to the oval groove on the side of the spool.
