The new Bambu Lab P1S comes with a three-part “cooling solution,” AMS compatibility, an activated carbon filter, and other features.

Today, the Bambu Lab P1S enters the market as a more or less fully enclosed version of the popular P1P model. In addition to the features of its predecessor and its enclosure, the P1S also features a three-part “cooling solution” consisting of an auxiliary part-cooling fan, a chamber regulator for the printer’s internal temperature, and a control board fan. In addition, the activated carbon filter is intended to eliminate or reduce odors and harmful gases when printing with filaments such as ABS.

Bambu Lab states that these changes make the P1S “ideal” for 3D printing with materials such as PA, PC, ABS, and ASA, while the P1P is merely “capable.”

Like the P1P, Bambu Lab states that the P1S can reach speeds of up to 500 mm/s and acceleration of 20 000 mm/s2, which is fast enough to “print a Benchy in 18 minutes.” The optional AMS allows users to print in up to 16 colors.

The new machine is further enhanced by a built-in camera and “improved” hardware and software that is “based on 12 months of real-world experience,” according to the press release – although it is not entirely clear what exactly that means.
