Flex, commonly referred to as rubber, is an elastomer characterized by very high flexibility. Flex is a hybrid material that combines the properties of rubber and other thermoplastic materials such as PLA or ABS.
It is a special rubber-like photopolymer, but with its own characteristics ideal for 3D printing. This material is suitable for the production of a vast number of parts such as: keychains, mobile phone cases, tires for RC, and potentially other parts designed to absorb impacts. These are thermoplastic elastomers made from a mixture of hard plastic polymers, e.g., polypropylene (PP) etc., and soft rubber materials. They also contain additives. These can be oil, fillers, and more.
This elastomer primarily guarantees elasticity and flexibility. Printed details can reach a Shore hardness of 20D, which corresponds to approximately 70A. Most importantly, you can achieve excellent printing results across the entire temperature range, i.e., 220 – 245 °C. Flex filament is made from FDA-certified material. We recommend printing on printers equipped with a direct extruder.
