Original set of two bimetal nozzles for the professional 3D printer QIDI Max4. The nozzles are designed specifically for the high-speed CoreXY Max4 system and follow the design of the multi-material hotend with ceramic ring heating.
Construction and material
The bimetal nozzle combines a copper / copper alloy base for perfect heat transfer and a hardened steel tip for maximum lifespan:
- Copper alloy body – high thermal conductivity, fast heating, stable temperature profile at high flow rates.
- Hardened steel tip – significantly higher wear resistance when printing abrasive filaments (CF/GF, filled materials).
- Surface treatment – facilitates material flow and reduces the adhesion of molten plastic to the nozzle surface.
The 0.4 mm nozzle size is the ideal universal diameter for everyday printing – it combines good printing speed and high surface detail. This set contains 2 pieces, so you always have a replacement at hand.
Compatibility
- Designed for: QIDI Max4
- Hotend type: original Max4 bimetal hotend with ceramic ring heating (multi‑metal)
- Filament diameter: 1.75 mm (Max4 standard)
The nozzles are designed specifically for the Max4 – the geometry and length match the original hotend, so we do not recommend swapping them with nozzles intended for other QIDI models (Q2, Plus4, X‑Max 3, etc.).
Features and benefits
- Original QIDI accessory – guaranteed compatibility and reliability on the Max4 printer.
- Bimetal construction – copper body + hardened steel tip for the optimal combination of thermal conductivity and durability.
- 0.4 mm diameter – universal nozzle for most printing tasks, high quality of detail.
- High-temperature use – designed to work within the Max4 hotend temperature range (up to approx. 370 °C according to printer specification).
- Resistance to abrasive materials – suitable for printing carbon or glass filled filaments as well as technical plastics.
- Set of 2 pcs – practical spare for quick nozzle changes without operational delays.
Recommended use
Max4 bimetal nozzles are suitable for printing a wide range of materials supported by the QIDI Max4 printer:
- Standard materials: PLA, PETG, ABS, ASA, TPU
- Technical and composite materials: PA, PC, CF/GF composites (PLA‑CF, PETG‑CF, ASA‑CF, PA‑CF, PA‑GF, etc.)
For abrasive filaments (carbon, glass fibers, filled polymers), the bimetal nozzle wears out significantly less than a copper or brass nozzle, thereby maintaining diameter accuracy and detail quality even after long-term use.
Installation and maintenance
- Heat the hotend to the working temperature of the material used (usually 220–260 °C).
- Carefully unscrew the old nozzle using a suitable wrench.
- Screw in the new bimetal nozzle while hot – tighten with care to avoid damaging the thread.
- After installation, we recommend performing a re-calibration of the first layer height.
For a longer nozzle lifespan:
- Regularly clean it from material residues (e.g., with a brass brush at a higher temperature).
- Do not use hard steel tools directly in the nozzle orifice – there is a risk of damage.
