Expand the capabilities of the QIDI Max4 printer with automatic multicolor and multimaterial printing. QIDI Box holds up to four spools and manages their feeding, changing, and monitoring during printing. For larger projects, up to four units can be linked using expansion accessories, allowing you to work with up to 16 filaments.
The box is more than just a material feeder. Integrated drying at temperatures of up to 65 °C helps keep filament in optimal condition before and during printing. The enclosed space, temperature and humidity monitoring, and desiccant compartments limit the absorption of atmospheric moisture, which can cause stringing, bubbles, an uneven surface, or weakened prints.
QIDI Box automatically loads the selected filament and switches between individual channels according to the prepared print project. This allows you to create:
When the filament on the active spool runs out, the system can automatically switch to another spool containing the same material. Long print jobs can therefore continue without manual intervention.
Moisture has a significant effect on print quality, especially with technical and hygroscopic materials. QIDI Box enables simultaneous drying and printing, keeping the filament protected throughout use.
The system supports drying materials such as PLA, ABS, ASA, PA, PC, PET, PETG, PPS, and PLA Wood. The current temperature and humidity can be monitored in real time. The enclosed design is complemented by desiccant compartments for a more stable environment when storing spools.
Each of the four channels uses a separate stepper motor and a feeding mechanism with two hardened steel gears. The firm grip on the filament supports stable feeding of common materials as well as selected composites filled with carbon or glass fibers.
QIDI Box supports a wide range of filaments, including PLA, PETG, ABS, ASA, PET, PA, PC, PP, POM, HIPS, and selected CF/GF composites. For very soft materials, such as standard TPU or TPE, external feeding should be used according to the manufacturer's recommendations.
Built-in sensors monitor material passage and help detect:
Four separate LED indicators clearly display the status of each channel. The system can identify compatible original QIDI filaments using NFC, simplifying the selection of the appropriate material profile.
The safety system uses an intelligent PTC fuse and a pair of temperature sensors. If an abnormal temperature is detected, it can automatically disconnect the power supply. QIDI Box is therefore ready for long print jobs and regular use in the workshop.
QIDI Box is designed for filament with a diameter of 1,75 mm and spools with the following dimensions:
| Spool parameter | Supported dimension |
|---|---|
| Width | 50–72 mm |
| Diameter | 195–202 mm |
Cardboard spools are not recommended for direct use. A suitable adapter or spool rim ring must be used for safe and smooth operation.
This QIDI Box variant includes connection accessories compatible with the QIDI Max4 printer. Individual variants designed for other QIDI printer models may differ in the BOX Hub and signal cable used, so it is important to select the correct version.
QIDI Box for QIDI Max4 is an ideal upgrade for users who want to automate filament handling, print in multiple colors, use support materials, and protect spools from moisture at the same time.
