Prusament TPU 95A Ultramarine Blue is a flexible filament manufactured by Prusa Polymers with an emphasis on precision, color consistency, and reliable material feeding. It is suitable for producing flexible functional components that must withstand impacts, bending, and long-term wear.
In thin walls and at lower infill density, the material is soft and flexible. By adding perimeters and increasing the infill density, significantly stronger and highly durable parts can be created. The rich Ultramarine Blue shade gives prints an attractive blue color.
Flexible filaments are often sensitive to diameter fluctuations due to their elasticity. Prusament TPU 95A is therefore manufactured with a guaranteed dimensional tolerance of ±0,06 mm. The consistent diameter, together with the modified polymer structure, helps limit filament deformation in the feeding mechanism and contributes to even extrusion.
The material provides the highest level of convenience when used with printers featuring a direct extruder. Ready-made material profiles are available in PrusaSlicer for Original Prusa printers. With some older or Bowden printers, it may be necessary to adjust the pressure of the drive gears and the print speed.
TPU 95A combines flexibility with high resistance to abrasion, impacts, and repeated stress. The material has very low moisture absorption and high resistance to hydrolysis and microbial degradation. It also resists oils and greases well and retains its flexibility at temperatures down to approximately −50 °C.
It is suitable, for example, for printing:
The spool is equipped with a fully rewritable NFC tag based on the open OpenPrintTag standard. The tag can store information about the material, color, recommended settings, and the remaining amount of filament. The information can be read by a compatible device or mobile application, while the basic data is stored directly on the tag and does not require a cloud connection.
| Parameter | Recommended value |
|---|---|
| Nozzle temperature | 220–240 °C |
| Bed temperature | 55–75 °C |
| Print speed | up to 30 mm/s |
| Cooling | 30–50 % |
| Recommended nozzle | brass 0,4 mm |
| Recommended surface | PA Nylon or satin print sheet |
For very small or large models, it is advisable to use a brim. Do not print TPU directly on a smooth PEI sheet—the strong adhesion could damage the surface. If you use it nevertheless, apply a glue stick as a separating layer.
Under normal conditions, drying is not always necessary. If bubbles, stringing, or irregular extrusion appear, it is recommended to dry the filament for at least 4 hours at 60 °C. After opening, store it in a sealed dry box or bag with desiccant.
