Prusament Resin Impact65 Black 1 kg is a technical black resin for SLA/MSLA 3D printing with high impact strength (Izod 65 kJ/m²), partial flexibility, and very low viscosity. Ideal for functional parts, snap-fits, brackets, jigs, and mechanically stressed components that should bend rather than break brittlely upon impact. The resin is designed and manufactured by the Prusa Polymers team in Prague and does not contain highly toxic substances such as Bisphenol A, ACMO, or TPO.

Prusament Resin Impact65 Black 1 kg

Prusament Resin Impact65 Black is a top-tier technical resin from the Prusa Polymers workshop developed for applications where high impact resistance, toughness, and moderate flexibility are required. Parts tend to bend under load rather than cracking brittlely, and thanks to low viscosity, the material prints excellently even in fine details.(prusa3d.com)

After proper curing, prints maintain their mechanical properties in the long term – a standard workflow is sufficient: print (e.g., on Original Prusa SL1S SPEED), approx. 10 minutes of washing and 1 hour of curing in CW1S. Furthermore, the material can be used for selected outdoor applications if the parts are not exposed to high temperatures.(prusa3d.com)

    Main advantages and use

    • High impact strength – Izod up to approx. 65 kJ/m², comparable to many popular technical thermoplastics.(prusa3d.com)
    • Partially flexible character – thinner walls bend instead of cracking, suitable for snap-fits and flexible elements.(prusa3d.com)
    • Low viscosity – fast and reliable printing, better resin drainage from cavities and fine details.(prusa3d.com)
    • Excellent processability – easy washing and curing (CW1S recommended), good surface properties.(prusa3d.com)
    • Suitable for selected outdoor applications – resistance to UV radiation, moisture, and low temperatures, if not exposed to high temperatures.(prusa3d.com)
    • Lower toxicity than common SLA resins – does not contain Bisphenol A, ACMO, TPO, and other highly toxic substances, tested and documented in safety data sheets.(prusa3d.com)
    • Made in Prague by the Prusa Polymers team – perfect alignment with Original Prusa 3D printers, but usable on other MSLA printers as well.(prusa3d.com)

    Typical applications

    • Brackets and mounts – e.g., pipe holders, cable clips, clamps, and mounting elements.(prusa3d.com)
    • Snap-fit and flexible mechanisms – latches, clips, flexible joints, and cable guides.
    • Jigs, tools, and functional prototypes – screwdriver bit holders, mounting jigs, small tools with higher stress.(prusa3d.com)
    • Detailed models – figures and models requiring a more durable material and good details at the same time.

    Material properties

Prusament Resin Impact65 combines toughness, flexibility, and good printability:

    • Impact strength (Izod): approx. 65 kJ/m²
    • Tensile strength: approx. 25 MPa
    • Elongation at break: up to around 30 %

These values are comparable to many popular technical thermoplastics, so the material is suitable even for lightly loaded functional parts.(prusa3d.com)

Warning: The material has lower thermal resistance and lower notched impact strength, so under certain conditions, cracking may occur with sharp notched geometries and higher thermal loads.(prusa3d.com)

    Work safety and ecology

Despite reduced toxicity, it is still necessary to treat the resin as a chemical requiring protection:

    • always use protective gloves and recommended PPE,
    • prevent contact with skin, eyes, and ingestion,
    • wipe spilled resin immediately with paper towels and clean with IPA (isopropyl alcohol), do not let it cure on equipment;(prusa3d.com)
    • dispose of unused liquid resin and contaminated waste as hazardous waste in accordance with local legislation;
    • cured (fully polymerized) parts belong in mixed waste – the material is thermosetting (thermoset) and cannot be recycled like common filaments (thermoplastics).(prusa3d.com)

Always study the safety data sheet (MSDS) available on the official Prusament website before use.

    Compatibility and print settings

    • Optimally tuned for Original Prusa SL1S SPEED and post-processing station CW1S.(prusa3d.com)
    • Compatible with most MSLA/SLA printers (UV LCD) with the corresponding light wavelength – however, it is necessary to use adapted profiles and exposure tests.
    • Recommended layer exposure times, ambient temperature, and other parameters can be found in the official print profiles from Prusa Research.
