  After the bed has cooled down, the sheet can be slightly flexed and the print will usually release on its own, without the need to use metal tools that could damage the PEI.

  The PEI surface is a consumable material – it will naturally wear out over time, but with proper maintenance it will last a long time. The spring steel ensures mechanical durability and dimensional stability.

This specific model is intended only for the larger Core ONE L printer. For the standard Core ONE/+ there is a separate variant of the smooth PEI sheet.

Recommended use by material

• PLA
  • Ideal combination: excellent adhesion and surface finish
  • Glue is usually not needed
• PETG
  • Very good adhesion
  • To prevent surface damage, it is generally not recommended to clean with isopropyl alcohol before printing PETG – on smooth PEI sheets, adhesion that is too strong can damage the film.
• Flex (TPU/TPE)
  • When printing flexible materials, it is recommended to apply a thin layer of glue stick (e.g. KORES) to prevent overly strong adhesion and damage to the PEI when removing prints.
• ABS / ASA / other technical materials
  • Good compatibility with proper temperature settings and use of skirt/brim, especially for larger models.

Maintenance and cleaning

For long service life and stable adhesion, follow these recommendations:

• For regular degreasing (e.g. before printing PLA), use isopropyl alcohol (IPA) and a soft, lint-free cloth.
• In case of minor marks from the nozzle or tools, the surface can be gently “matted” with the rougher side of a dry kitchen sponge, using light circular motions.
• Avoid aggressive solvents (especially acetone), which can irreversibly damage the PEI film.
• Do not use sharp metal spatulas – always remove prints after cooling and by flexing the sheet if necessary.
