Eight tools for true multimaterial 3D printing

Prusa CORE One+ (Gen 2) INDX 8-Tool combines the robust construction of an enclosed CoreXY printer with the advanced Bondtech INDX tool system. Eight separate tools allow you to have up to eight colors, materials, or different nozzle diameters ready and automatically switch between them during a single print.

Unlike systems with a shared nozzle, INDX does not need to extrude a large amount of filament with every change. It does not create a conventional purge tower and consumes only approximately 0,013 g of material per change. This gives you cleaner multicolor models, shorter print times, and significantly less waste.

Fast tool changes and induction heating

The movable smart INDX head contains an induction coil that heats the tool's steel nozzle within a few seconds after picking up the tool. Parked tools cool down quickly, so material does not ooze from inactive nozzles or contaminate other colors.

A complete change from the last extrusion of one material to starting the print with another takes approximately 12 seconds, depending on the material used. Passive tools also contain no built-in electronics, which reduces their complexity and makes maintenance easier.

Combine colors, materials, and nozzle sizes

Each tool has its own nozzle and dedicated filament path. This means that in a single project you can, for example:

    • print a multicolor model using up to eight filaments,
    • combine a rigid structure with flexible TPU elements,
    • use soluble or easily removable supports,
    • combine different nozzle diameters within a single print job,
    • keep your favorite materials permanently loaded and ready to use.

The printer works with standard filaments without mandatory RFID chips. It supports PLA, PETG, ASA, ABS, PC, PA, TPU, PVA, BVOH, and other materials up to a temperature of 300 °C. The supplied surface-hardened nozzles are not intended for long-term printing with highly abrasive filaments.

Enclosed CoreXY construction with an active chamber

The rigid steel frame and CoreXY kinematics enable fast movements while maintaining precision. The enclosed chamber with active temperature control reaches up to 55 °C, which reduces warping when printing technical materials. Automatic ventilation also allows you to print PLA or PETG with the door closed.

With the INDX system installed, the printer offers a build volume of 248 × 205 × 270 mm. The heated bed reaches up to 120 °C, and the maximum nozzle temperature is 300 °C.

    Precise automatic calibration

The first layer is calibrated automatically using a load cell sensor that measures contact directly at the nozzle tip. A dedicated system for calibrating the offset of individual tools is located outside the print area, and calibration of one tool takes approximately 15 seconds.

An advanced nozzle wiper removes any residual material before printing continues. The dynamic dual-drive extrusion mechanism automatically adjusts the pressure of the drive gears to the properties of the loaded filament.

    Gen 2 improvements

The latest CORE One+ (Gen 2) design introduces GT1.5 belts for cleaner surfaces, revised heated bed mounting for faster print preparation, a more efficient nozzle cleaning system, and an easily removable top panel. These features are already included with the printer, and the construction is directly prepared for INDX.

A kit for getting to know the printer in detail

The kit version contains all the parts needed to assemble the printer with the INDX system and eight tools. A detailed illustrated assembly guide takes you through the entire process step by step. During assembly, you become familiar with the mechanics, electronics, sensors, and filament routing, making future servicing and maintenance easier.
