True multi-material printing with four tools

Prusa CORE One+ (Gen 2) INDX 4-Tool combines the precision and speed of an enclosed CoreXY printer with a full-featured toolchanger developed in cooperation with Bondtech. Each of the four tools has its own nozzle and separate filament path, allowing you to combine different colors, materials, and nozzle diameters within a single project.

Unlike single-nozzle systems, INDX does not need to extrude a large amount of filament with every change. It does not create a conventional purge tower, limits cross-contamination between materials, and produces approximately just 0.013 g of waste per change.

    Fast INDX toolchanger

Tool changes take approximately 12 seconds. The movable Smart Head picks up the selected tool and heats its steel nozzle within a few seconds using a contactless induction coil. Parked nozzles cool down quickly, preventing filament from leaking out and keeping colors clean.

The Dynamic Dual Drive system automatically adjusts the pressure of the drive gears to the loaded material. This makes it easy to switch between common rigid filaments, flexible TPU, and materials intended for supports.

Four tools today, up to eight in the future

This configuration includes 4 complete INDX tools and is ready for later expansion to up to eight tools. Each tool can be loaded with a different material or color, or fitted with a compatible nozzle diameter.

This allows you, for example, to:

    • print multicolor models without a purge tower,
    • combine rigid PLA or PETG with flexible TPU,
    • use PVA or BVOH for soluble supports,
    • combine technical materials with support filament,
    • switch between different nozzle diameters within a single project,
    • keep frequently used materials loaded at all times.

    Enclosed chamber for technical materials

The rigid steel frame and CoreXY kinematics ensure stability even during high-speed printing. The enclosed chamber with active temperature control reaches up to 55 °C and helps reduce warping of large parts made from ASA, ABS, PC, or PA.

Smart ventilation automatically adjusts the environment for low-temperature filaments as well. This means PLA and PETG can be printed with the door closed without excess heat building up in the chamber.

    Practical build volume

After installing the INDX system, the printer offers a usable build volume of 248 × 205 × 270 mm. Since INDX does not require a conventional purge tower, nearly the entire build plate remains available for the model itself.

Automatic first-layer measurement uses a precise Loadcell sensor. Before printing, the nozzle directly touches the print sheet, eliminating the need to set the Z-offset manually. The system also ensures precise alignment of the individual tools.

    Gen 2 improvements

The latest CORE One+ (Gen 2) version introduces updates focused on cleaner prints, faster preparation, and easier maintenance:

    • GT1.5 belts to reduce fine repeating patterns on the surface,
    • improved heated-bed mounting,
    • faster first-layer print start,
    • advanced induction-nozzle cleaner,
    • easily removable top panel,
    • more robust automatic ventilation system.

Open ecosystem without a mandatory cloud

The printer supports standard 1.75 mm-diameter filaments without proprietary chips. Prepare models in the free PrusaSlicer software and send them via USB, Ethernet, or Wi-Fi. Prusa Connect and the Prusa mobile app enable remote management, but an internet connection is not required to operate the printer.

Optionally, you can add an internal camera with night mode or advanced air filtration.

A kit for getting to know the printer in depth

It is supplied as a complete kit with a detailed online manual and the necessary tools. Once assembled, you get a printer technically identical to the factory-assembled version while also gaining an in-depth understanding of its mechanics, electronics, sensors, and INDX system.
