PLA filament 1.75 mm is the most versatile material for FDM printing technology, suitable even for printing large objects. Thanks to its easy-to-use properties, we recommend PLA to all beginners starting with 3D printing. Another great advantage is 100% ecological degradability, as PLA is made from renewable sources such as corn starch. PLA material is hard and durable, like other plastics, but it is not a material suitable for outdoor use because in such cases it degrades and becomes brittle under UV light.
The material is difficult to sand as sanding (friction) generates heat, which causes the "pulling" of fibers from the print. Therefore, manual sanding is recommended to be done under water to cool the print. For the same reason, it is also difficult to drill holes in the print (again, heating issues). It is advisable to first spray the object with a filler (putty used in modeling), then sand and repaint repeatedly until the object is completely smooth, finishing with a final spray of paint.
Cyanoacrylate (superglue) with a spray activator (sometimes superglue alone may be sufficient).
Commonly used nozzles are suitable. You can choose diameters according to the surface fineness you want to achieve or according to the layer thickness settings during printing. Printing temperature: 210 °C. PLA filament requires a heated bed, but for better material adhesion, it is recommended to heat it up to 55 °C. Furthermore, we do not recommend covering the printer in an enclosure for PLA filament printing, or leave it open. For a high-quality print surface, it is necessary to cool the plastic behind the nozzle as quickly as possible. We therefore recommend setting the plastic cooling fan on the printer to 100%.
The printing filament is supplied vacuum-packed with a moisture absorber and placed in a cardboard box. The plastic spools on which the filament is wound may vary in design or color. We strive to maintain 100% repeatability of the winding and spool color.
