The Original Prusa XL was designed to be easily upgraded to up to five toolheads. Adding more extruders lets you combine multiple materials and enjoy multi-color printing with minimal or no waste. Please note – the tools required to install the upgrade are not included.
We designed the Original Prusa XL from the ground up to be easily upgradable. By installing one of the upgrade kits, you can increase the number of available toolheads and expand your 3D printing possibilities.
With a toolchanger and multiple print heads, you can preload several filament types and then combine them within a single print. With smart part design, you can get by with minimal supports and print without waste! No purge tower needed and your printer won’t be surrounded by filament scraps – let’s say goodbye to piles of waste heavier than the print itself!
Combining several filaments in one print also helps you reduce consumption of more expensive materials – for example, when printing with PCCF you can use PLA for supports and save significantly!
