How to install inserts (recommended procedure)

1. Design or pre-drill a hole in the plastic according to the recommended diameter for the given insert size (usually slightly smaller than the outer diameter of the insert).
2. Place the insert on the soldering iron tip (or a special attachment) with the thread facing up.
3. Heat the insert and gently push it into the hole until it reaches the desired depth.
4. Let it cool down so that the surrounding plastic solidifies again and firmly grips the insert.
5. After cooling, you can safely screw in screws of the given metric thread.

For PLA and other softer plastics, we recommend a lower temperature and a more patient approach to avoid overheating and deformation of the surrounding material.
