Product Description
Candour PPS-CF is a top-tier technical filament made of
PPS (polyphenylene sulfide) reinforced with carbon fibers, designed for the
most demanding industrial and functional applications. It combines extreme heat and chemical resistance with very high stiffness and dimensional stability.
The material composition, properties, and color of this filament are
identical to the original Bambu Lab PPS-CF – both are produced by the
same manufacturer. The difference lies in the packaging:
- Candour spools do not have an NFC/RFID tag, so the printer will not identify them automatically.
- Candour spools have a different construction than original Bambu Lab spools, and therefore cannot be used as refill spools.
- For searching and illustrative photos, we recommend using images of Bambu Lab PPS-CF of the same name and color, as the material is identical.
Thanks to
very low water absorption, PPS-CF changes dimensions minimally over time and maintains its mechanical properties even in humid environments. It is therefore suitable for
long-term stressed parts in the automotive, electrical, engineering, and aerospace industries.
Main Features
- Ultra-high heat resistance – Heat Deflection Temperature (HDT) up to approx. 264 °C at 0.45 MPa.
- Long-term operation above 200 °C – suitable for parts near engines, heating elements, or other heat sources.
- Carbon fiber reinforcement (CF) – high stiffness, strength, and dimensional stability.
- Excellent chemical and corrosion resistance – resists many solvents, oils, fuels, and industrial chemicals.
- Inherent flame retardancy / high flame retardant rating (equivalent to UL94 V‑0 for the reference Bambu Lab PPS-CF).
- Very low moisture absorption – minimal swelling and dimensional changes, stable properties over time.
- Dimensional stability and minimal warping – suitable for large precision parts.
- Professional engineering material – ideal for industrial and functional prototypes.
Recommended Use
Candour PPS-CF is particularly suitable for:
- Automotive parts – brackets, covers, components in the engine compartment, parts near the exhaust or radiator.
- Machine fixtures and accessories – jigs, fixtures, and clamping parts near heat or chemicals.
- Electrical and electronic components – housings, spacers, functional parts in environments with elevated temperatures.
- Industrial and engineering components – gears, bearing housings, functional prototypes with high mechanical stress.
- Other structural and functional parts in demanding environments where common materials (PLA, PETG, PA-CF) are insufficient.
This filament is intended for experienced users who have an enclosed, heated printer and can handle printing at high nozzle and bed temperatures.
Printing Recommendations
Specific values may vary by printer and conditions, but based on the parameters of the reference Bambu Lab PPS-CF:
- Nozzle temperature: approx. 310–340 °C
- Bed temperature: approx. 100–120 °C
- Enclosed print chamber: strongly recommended, ideally heated
- Max. recommended print speed: up to 100 mm/s (for surface quality and strength)
- Dry filament is a necessity – dry PPS-CF before printing (higher temperature and longer drying time than for common materials)
- Abrasion-resistant nozzle – use hardened steel, toughened brass, or otherwise durable nozzle due to abrasive carbon fibers.
Inappropriate drying or an insufficiently heated environment can lead to
filament snapping, poor layer adhesion, or increased internal stress – therefore, it pays to give maximum attention to print preparation.
Candour Spool Features
- Without NFC/RFID tag – filament is not automatically recognized by the printer.
- Different spool construction compared to Bambu Lab – cannot be used as a refill spool for the original Bambu Lab system.
- Suitable for standard spool holders and external feeders.
For illustrative photos and color representation, you can use
images of Bambu Lab PPS-CF Black filament, as the material and shade are identical.
