Powerful CO₂ laser for workshops and professional production

Bambu Lab R1 brings the automation and ease of use known from Bambu Lab products to the world of laser cutting and engraving. The powerful 55W CO₂ laser can handle wood, acrylic, leather, textiles, glass, and a wide range of other materials. Thanks to its 600 × 300 mm work area, it is suitable for producing decorations, promotional elements, prototypes, models, and functional products.

Strong and clean cuts in a single pass

R1 can cut up to 18mm black walnut plywood or up to 20mm acrylic in a single pass. CO₂ technology also enables efficient processing of clear acrylic, which is problematic for standard blue diode lasers. Glass is intended for engraving, not cutting.

Automatic laser alignment

The Auto Laser Alignment system measures the beam position, detects deviations, and automatically adjusts the optical path in approximately one minute. This eliminates the need for time-consuming manual mirror adjustment using test shots. The integrated touchscreen displays the calibration progress, current task, and remaining service life of the laser tube and mirrors.

Precise positioning with the TriSense system

The TriSense system combines cameras, lasers, and encoders. Before starting work, it checks:

• the position of the material and prepared design,
• the height and course of the surface,
• the movement of the laser head.

Height sensing helps maintain sharp engraving even on curved or uneven objects. The system also works on transparent materials, and the camera in the head can precisely locate small objects. Tracking of printed or drawn outlines is also supported.

Fast engraving without loss of quality

Advanced motion control with vibration compensation helps maintain clean lines even when changing direction. Engraving speeds reach up to 1 000 mm/s, while the system adjusts the power to keep the engraving depth consistent. With the optional Vision Encoder system, absolute motion accuracy of up to 0,1 mm can be maintained across the entire work area.

Processing materials up to 3 meters long

With the optional automatic feeder, the pass-through design can be used to process materials up to 3 000 mm long. R1 can therefore handle not only smaller products and models, but also panels, shelves, lighting fixtures, and furniture components.

Automatic material profiles

The device can recognize compatible Bambu Lab materials and automatically set the appropriate speed and power. This reduces the need to create test grids and manually find the correct parameters for each task.

Enclosed design with multi-level protection

Bambu Lab R1 uses cross-flow ventilation, which draws clean air in from one side and removes smoke from the other. Safety equipment includes:

• Class 1 laser safety certification for normal operation,
• automatic stopping when the lid is opened,
• flame detection,
• an emergency button,
• support for an optional automatic fire-extinguishing system.

For safe operation, it is always necessary to ensure adequate exhaust or filtration of fumes and to process only materials suitable for laser use.
