Cleaner air when 3D printing technical materials
The alternative air filter with activated carbon is a compatible replacement for the filter cartridge used in
Bambu Lab X1, X1 Carbon, P1S and suitably equipped P1P 3D printers. It helps adsorb volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and reduce unpleasant odors that may occur especially when printing high-temperature filaments.
Suitable for ABS, ASA, PC and PA
When melting technical materials such as
ABS, ASA, polycarbonate or nylon, more fumes are usually released than when printing PLA. The filter cartridge contains activated carbon with a large adsorption surface, through which the air extracted from the print chamber is directed.
The filter is particularly suitable for:
- printing with ABS and ASA,
- printing with PC and PA,
- regular printer operation in a workshop or office,
- reducing odors exhausted from the enclosed print chamber.
Compatible replacement without complicated installation
The dimensions and shape of the cartridge correspond to the filter compartment of X1/P1 series printers. Replacement requires no tools or printer modifications – simply remove the cover, pull out the used filter and insert the new one.
Notice for Bambu Lab P1P: installation requires the printer to be equipped with a compatible cover and air duct, for example as part of a conversion to an enclosed structure.
Recommended regular replacement
The approximate service life is up to
1,440 hours of cumulative printing. The actual replacement interval depends on the material used, operating intensity and the amount of fumes generated. If the filter stops reducing odors sufficiently, we recommend replacing it sooner.
Replacement procedure
- Turn off the printer and allow it to cool down.
- Remove the plastic cover of the filter compartment.
- Carefully pull out the used cartridge.
- Insert the new filter in the correct orientation.
- Return the plastic cover to its original position.
The activated carbon filter is primarily designed to adsorb gases and reduce odors. It also contains a HEPA filter on the other side for better dust absorption.
