Color, the perfect expression of emotions, is brought to you by Bambu Lab’s Automatic Material System (AMS). With it, you can freely enjoy printing in various colors and materials.
Recommended spool dimensions:
► Spool width 50-68 mm.
► Spool diameter 197-202 mm.


Compatible with most materials such as PLA, ABS, ASA, PETG, PC, etc.

With AMS, Bambu Lab printers can use breakaway support material or soluble filament for easy support removal.

Without AMS, when filament runs out, manual spool replacement interrupts printing and leads to filament loss.
With AMS, there is a seamless transition to a new spool, enabling uninterrupted printing and minimizing waste.

Your print never stops thanks to automatic spool switching. With the AMS filament backup function, you never have to worry about running out of filament while you sleep or are away, ensuring a smooth and uninterrupted printing process, preventing any filament waste, and promoting energy efficiency.

Bambu Lab filaments use RFID which is read by the AMS for automatic identification and application of the best settings for your material.
The RFID tag is automatically synchronized with Bambu Studio.
Non-Bambu Lab filaments need to be set manually in Bambu Studio or on the printer.

When the filament encounters resistance at the toolhead, it may indicate that the filament is tangled or the spool is stuck. AMS can detect this immediately and pause the print to prevent air printing.

Moisture-absorbed filament can cause print quality issues and poor layer adhesion, or even nozzle clogs, which can lead to failed prints.

AMS has an airtight seal and, with the help of desiccant, absorbs moisture to keep it away from the filament.
A humidity sensor also detects moisture inside the AMS and informs the user when humidity is high and the desiccant needs to be replaced.
Dry filament is essential for the best print quality.

Each Bambu Lab AMS consists of 4 filament slots, and up to 4 AMS units can be installed in parallel, supporting up to 16 colors for stunning prints that truly stand out. To achieve 16-color printing, connect 4 AMS via the AMS Hub.
